23 Aug Carli & Robert’s Wedding at The Grand Island Mansion
Carli & Robert had a beautiful wedding at the gorgeous Grand Island Mansion this passed January, and we were there to photograph the day! Carli and Robert met almost ten years ago at Sonoma State when Robert was playing baseball and Carli was playing softball. Carli admitted to us that she noticed him in the training room one day and went home and looked him up on MySpace (we did say that this was almost ten years ago)! After carefully crafting a baseball/softball hot-tub hangout, Carli finally got Roberts attention and the rest is history. What we loved about this wedding were the small details that reflected their history and connection through baseball. They had their Sonoma State jersey’s displayed in the ballroom and had their guests sign baseballs as their guestbook. It was very personal to them as a couple, but also pretty cute!
When we asked them what their favorite part of their wedding day was, they both said they couldn’t pick just one thing. Carli said she loved how Robert welled up during the ceremony and Robert said he remembered his brother whispering to him right as Carli was coming down the aisle “This is the best part”. Both of them agreed that one of the most memorable moments was when Carli’s bridesmaid Becca broke her thumb catching the bouquet. The good news though, is that she got engaged a week later! Needless to say we had a great time photographing Carli and Robert’s wedding and we wish them all the best!
